Housing audit needed to address access, accountability

The Democratic Alliance of the Northern Cape would like to extend their heartfelt condolences to the relatives and friends affected by the horror crashes in and around Kimberley over the last few days.
This comes after the lives of four people have been lost on the N8 recently, and six people on the N12 on Tuesday evening.
We are saddened to hear of the unnecessary loss of lives of so many of our citizens who have passed away so tragically.
We urge all road users to be cautious on the roads, to be vigilant, safety conscience and to adhere to the speed limits at all times.
Provincial government, working together with law enforcement authorities and other stakeholders, should intensify its efforts in assisting with the decrease of road crashes, and ensure that those contravening our rules and regulations of the roads face the necessary consequences.
The DA welcomes investigations into these horror crashes as a matter of urgency.
